rs35767

rs35767 is a T>C regulatory variant in the promoter region of IGF1, the gene encoding insulin-like growth factor 1. In vitro, the C allele shows higher promoter transcriptional activity (via preferential binding of the C/EBPD transcription factor), yet population studies find the T allele associated with higher circulating IGF-1 levels. It is used here as a tag for IGF-1/growth-hormone-axis activity relevant to growth and tissue repair.
