ABCG2

ABCG2 makes a transporter in the intestine, liver, and kidneys. The Q141K variant rs2231142 lowers transporter function and raises rosuvastatin exposure; CPIC uses this single SNP for rosuvastatin guidance. The same variant is linked to higher blood uric acid and higher overall gout odds, but it does not measure a person's uric-acid clearance or diagnose gout.
