TPMT
TPMT methylates parts of the thiopurine pathway and changes active and methylated metabolite patterns. Decreased activity can raise active-metabolite exposure and severe blood-cell toxicity risk. TPMT does not simply measure whole-drug clearance or set a safe dose by itself; clinicians also use NUDT15, the treatment protocol, and blood tests.
